W.W. 2 PIONEER CORPS / WARRANT OFFICERS BATTLE DRESS
A fresh find , genuine and original 1940 pattern battle dress blouse to a warrant officer serving in the Pioneer Corps.
ALL insignia is genuine and original to the uniform the printed Warrant officers rank insignia is again original to this jacket and not a postwar up grade by spurious means ( the top right corner of the right hand side patch is loose and the tell tail shadow of the clean cloth underneath can clearly be seen : picture 6 ).
Unusually the formation signs are the Canadian Ist army which suggests this guy and /or all his unit was transferred to the Canadian army perhaps after D/DAY as casualty replacements , some thing im not aware took place ?.
Having said that Im completely happy the whole jacket is period and un messed with , the formation signs have been on ` forever and a day` ( pic ) and viewing the inside sleeve and the back of the badge has that nice
`bedded in ` look that is good to see.
Condition :GOOD /Used can find one small moth hole
Complete with medal ribbons and correct lanyard.
If any one can offer any details on the story behind this unit please do, full acknowledgement will be given .
Code: 52154Price: 165.00 GBP
